HOMECOMING RANCH (Series Pine River #1) by Julia London is a heartwarming novel of love, family, and a light contemporary romance with characters you will fall in love with.

Madeline, resides in Orlando, FL, and has not had an easy childhood with an irresponsible mother; however, she has not given up on love, home, and family. She is a successful real estate agent, lives by rules, and is extremely organized. She has just learned her father has passed away and has left her a third of a ranch as her inheritance, along with two other sisters, she has never met. (The dad was married to three different women).

Luke is a builder developer in Denver, Colorado and has learned his father has lost their family homestead, Homecoming Ranch in Pine River, due to a deal done a long time ago when his dad needed money for his son Leo’s health expenses. Luke is the responsible one and always has to go to the ranch to help take care of his family after his mom’s death.

Leo, Luke’s younger brother is a secondary character, full of wit and personality, with a strong voice and will win reader’s hearts. He suffers from a terminal illness however, always full of laughs.

Madeline is all business and just wants to sell the ranch and get back to Orlando. However, she runs into all kinds of snags and nothing is simple. Luke is stuck in the middle, as they all want money but they have to work together in order to get their share. In the midst of all the drama, sparks begin to fly between Luke and Madeline.

This was my first book by Julia London and enjoyed the light and easy audiobook narrated by Tanya Eby. Starting on the next in the series - Return to Homecoming Ranch (Pine River, #2), featuring the sister, Libby which we met in book one.
