A.R. Torre’s THE GIRL IN 6E, an erotic psychological thriller, which will knock your socks off, and then some!  Congrats on the Huffington Post article today (7/10/14), regarding the "talked about" THE GIRL IN 6E.

“Why Do We Find Sex More Shocking Than Violence?” Torre explains what it means to push boundaries with erotica and her new novel, that hop-scotches the line between sex and suspense.

 

Torre replies, “Well, one might say indignantly, sex should be done in the privacy of one's home, isn't anyone's business to discuss out in the open. Okay... but serial killing and rape are acceptable party conversations? Violence, violence, everywhere. Perhaps our thick skin to literary violence is simply because we've become immune to it. Our minds don't have to wander far when we read a slasher" scene.”

First readers, you have to view Torre’s website (is it not so funky and cool)? And her photo--she is so adorable – the fresh face, hip, girl next door. Now, that I have sold you on her website design, and credibility—let’s talk about her writing! Very impressive, and this is where she reminds me of Jennifer Hillier (The Butcher, Creep, Freak). Both authors can get down and dark to uncover the complexities of the human troubled mind.

This is my first book by A.R. Torre, and cannot wait to read her other books. This gal can write, people—and holds back nothing. Predict she will be a bestselling author for years to come, and one to watch!

Now, all you excessively virtuous do-gooders, frowning upon sex and erotica, unfortunately, get over it to read this book (or not); as you are missing out. Unfortunately, when horrible acts happen to children, or others suffering from the war, or other acts of violence, PTSD, or abuse, we humans cannot just step back in, with the snap of fingers, and return to a normal state of society, pretending nothing happened.

They have scars and damage, and each victim handles their situation differently, as a means to cope; therefore, we have psycho thrillers, to get into the complex and realistic minds of those troubled individuals.

So, if you can get through the explicit sex in the first twenty-five percent of the novel, (you might like it) and will be so engrossed in this book you will not know what hit you.

Another tidbit –definitely buy the audiobook. Jorjeana Marie, performs brilliantly! (she read for Chevy Stevens’ That Night, another 5 star winner). When you are listening to a book of this nature, the narrator will make or break you, and in this case—a hit! Please all you authors out there, I am a huge audio fan so let’s have more of Jorjeana Marie (a pleasing voice). When you spend 7-14 hrs with an audiobook, you have to love the performer.

THE BOOK:  Let’s talk about this unbelievable freaky, and lovable wild novel. Readers are going to love it!

Meet former Deanna Martin. She now goes by the name of Jessica, an online sex cammer-charging $6.99 a minute (after all, she never leaves the apartment, so she can rack up as much as most people make in a year in a single month). She has no contact with the outside world. She is a virgin. She has no human interaction, except for the landlord Simon, and Jeremy the UPS driver, which is through the door and not face to face.

The others are her therapist which she speaks to via the web, who provides pills for her to give to her neighbor and landlord to keep him quiet, and her hacker who does her background and computer work. The UPS driver knows to leave the packages at the door and he signs (heaven forbid if he is sick and there is new driver).

She has all her food delivered, supplies, no car, and has not left her apartment in 6e in three years. All her interaction is via the internet. She is beautiful, smart, sexy, and has money. (Reminds me a little of The Mill River Recluse, as she never left the house after an abusive husband-great book).

Jessica has a secret, she has a desire to kill people and so she is locked in to protect others and herself. She is a recluse and has no family or friends. She has killed before, but why?

She has all sorts of online clients, she is sharp and a real business thinker. She makes great money. She has lots of different clients, from doctors to lawyers, men and women—married, single, and from all walks of life with different sexual appetites.

You see, she has a past. Something horrible happened (you have to read the book) to find out; and not until something happens presently, and a strange client mentions an innocent little girl named Annie. This could be a girl in need of help. Could this guy be someone’s husband, father, uncle, an upstanding citizen who likes little girls? How would anyone know, except for Jessica.

She is bothered by this and begins further investigation. Can this one event cause her to "open the door" and trust one person enough to use their car and get to this little girl in time?

An amazing look inside a complex mind of a simple young woman who has a heart, just like anyone else. One of compassion and love; however, tragic events led her to this prison of a life. What happened to her?

Torre’s writing is honest and stunning she is funny, witty, sarcastic, provocative, and sexy. From the character development (readers will love the UPS driver, Jeremy), and Jessica, to the plot planning, building suspense for a climatic ending. You will laugh and cry. Torre examines the thoughts and feelings of her characters and pushes the boundaries, producing a riveting and and satisfying novel.

When speaking of the concept of erotic novels, sex, and the stigma attached, reminded me of an older book I read some time ago by Wendy Wax, “Accidents of a Bestseller”, where a character in the book, a bestselling author of erotica and steamy scenes, writing under a pseudonym name. Her best friends did not even know, nor her husband.It all came out years later, and she was a famous minister’s wife—boy did this stir up some of the church members; however, the members were the ones buying the book!.

The UPS driver reminded me of my son, formerly worked for UPS during college. When graduating from college, they offered him a driver position and he decided to take it (after all, great stock options, good pay, and great exercise) until something better came along, and he loved it. What is not to love, you get a great work out, good tan, meet interesting people, he was in the best shape ever, great calf muscles, and all the women flirted with him, with many propositions. He had dates every night of the week. After 15 yrs of service, his poor back gave out (not from the women, the packages) and four back surgeries later, gave it up and became a boring regional bank manager. Six years as a bank manager, he says is not the same as he calls the UPS the "good ole days." Now less pay, weight gain, more stress, and no dates.

So you see, UPS guys have it all! Again, “Brown” wins in Apartment 6e (minus the box cutters). A winner!
