Debby starts from the beginning, with the book of Genesis with helpful scriptures and wholehearted words, with applications at the end of each chapter, as you ponder how the message relates to your current life. God is not moved by feeble desire, listless prayers, and spiritual laziness. God wants to see our souls on fire with passion, as our hearts reach out to Him. 

There are many favorites and illustrations, such as reflecting upon a time in your life when God made a way of escape from a situation that threatened to enslave you, a time like Caleb’s in Egypt before the great Exodus. Was it an addiction that enslaved? We know Him but don’t live for Him. When release is found in God’s leading out of bondage, and His protection is felt day and night in new freedom, faith grows. 

God holds us accountable to live like Jesus did, by the world-view reveled through the scriptures. By spending time in prayer, we examine with God our heart of surrender. We need to ask God to identify any areas of hardness that have formed to keep us from full wholehearted surrender, sacrifice and service which are essentials for Christian living.

We all have only one life to offer and what will our final words be at the close of our life? Will they reflect a life surrendered completely to Jesus? Will our final words be of the job of giving our all as a living sacrifice? Will they be an encouragement to others to serve with all their heart, soul, and mind until He returns?
