Shelley Noble returns to Newport with A NEWPORT CHRISTMAS WEDDING, a novella, where tensions run high as the wedding day approaches for Meri and Aldena with some challenges to overcome.
BREAKWATER BAY, takes readers back to the coastal area of Rhode Island, Newport's forgotten Gilded Age Mansions, where we pick up from Newport Dreams (a novella).
NEWPORT DREAMS, featured Geordie (a photographer) who comes to work on a restoration project called The Gilbert House. There she meets Bruce, Doug, and the two girls featured in Breakwater Bay –Carlyn and main character, Meri.
In BREAKWATER BAY, Meri is celebrating her thirtieth birthday, a preservationist restoring this mansion back to its glory, and uncovers hidden gems (both in the building as well as her life). She enjoys spending time with her Gram at Candler Farm and her neighbor, Alden who has been a friend since she was a child. Little does she know his deep connection to the family.
Now, in NEWPORT CHRISTMAS WEDDING, preparations are in full swing for the wedding of Meri Hollis and Alden Corrigan, her old childhood friend. However, things get tense and complicated with his two teenagers, Nora and Lucas.
What is not to love about Shelley Noble? A fan for years, and what a beautiful setting in Newport, and to boot, Christmas time, and a wedding! Tensions always run high with wedding plans, and especially when trying to fit in with a new family and step children. Lucas is away at boarding school; however, Nora is second guessing what her role will be after the marriage. (after her mom’s remarriage).
Enjoyed catching up with Gran and the characters from the previous books. A nice Christmas light romance, surprises, and family drama. Looking forward to reading upcoming Whisper Beach, coming June 16, 2015 just in time for beach weather (of course, here in southeast Florida it is always beach weather).
Fans of Kristin Hannah, will enjoy Noble’s style. This is my sixth book by Noble and recommend reading them all; you will not be disappointed.
