Rizzoli and Isles find themselves close on the trail of a murderer, who sadistic styling mimic a leopard on the prowl. After linking the latest crime, sixty-four year old big game hunter and taxidermist Leon Gott,(a house like Noah’s Ark with mounted animals), to a series of unsolved homicides in wilderness areas across the country, where answers may be found in a remote corner of South Africa.

Six years earlier, a group of tourists on safari fell prey to a killer in their midst. But the deadliest predator was already among them, he walked away with the blood of all but one of them on his hands.

Now this killer has chosen Boston as his new hunting ground, and Rizzoli and Isles must find a way to lure him out of the shadows and into a cage. Even if it means using the one victim as bait; the one victim who got away-- Millie Jacobson, the safari’s only survivor. (the account of how they were trapped and terrified --an unsolved massacre in years past- haunting!)

This was the most chilling and suspenseful novel, gripping you as you want to cover your eyes in the scary parts; however, you are dying to turn the page to discover the fate of the innocent against the savage beast.

Gerritsen definitely takes readers into the criminal minds and the best of forensic sciences where there is much detail of predators, animals and humans; vivid settings and descriptions –From footsteps to whispers, she calculates every move.

Tess plunges deep into the dark human behaviors for a haunting and suspenseful tale page-turner mystery which her fans will agree this one is a SCORE!
